The Layover
by Lacie Waldon
Ooo I loved this book.
I loved Ava. I loved Jack. The animosity between them was great. I liked how setting mutuals up is what got them to spend time together to figure out their own thing and develop their romance.
I think Ava made a few far fetched general criticisms against pilots, and therefore Jack, but I think it helped with explaining her issues with him and romance in general.
My only real criticism is that I wanted a dramatic blow up between Ava and Alexander. I felt their confrontation was a little lackluster. I wanted him to be a bit dramatic while begging her more to stay together and she push back more in specific ways as she gave examples about his parents, the wedding venue. I think it missed some romcom tension, but maybe that is because I was listening to the audiobook.
IMHO- Jenny was annoying-at least the narrator's voice acting made her annoying vs fun.
