I read Overspill in one sitting, midnight till 3am, I felt like a kid again staying up to finish it 💔 It was so earth-shatteringly, painfully relatable for me, so raw and real and the messages are masterfully crafted and packaged. Watch out for the trigger warnings because this book (beautifully) handles some very heavy topics. A stunning debut and Paradise should feel exceptionally proud, I know so many people will feel seen by this story!
Miles is awful in such a frustratingly nice-guy way I found it so difficult to read, particularly the party scene that was oh-so relatable if you've been in a relationship where your chronic illness/mental illness isn't properly taken seriously by your partner. I really hope this raises awareness that it is not enough to just say 'that's okay' and for the loved ones of ill people to take responsibility for researching the conditions and actually BEING there for us, especially in a romantic relationship it is the least you can do!
