Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman

5.0

I’ve been a fan of Heartstopper for a couple years, but I never got around to reading any of Alice Oseman’s books outside of the comic series until now, and I can definitely say this was an outstanding start. I love this novella for its realistic look into the lives of Nick and Charlie's relationship, as another queer person. It acknowledges how high school relationships transform when college approaches, as well as giving us a realistic view on arguments and fights in relationships. As someone who could see their exact situation through the lens of Nick and Charlie, I found a lot of comfort in this novella, and I highly recommend it for any queer people going from high school to college who are questioning their relationship because of it.
