Heartstopper: The Mini Comics by Alice Oseman

5.0

The Mini-Comics helped to fill a small portion of the Heartstopper shaped hole in my heart after I completed the first four graphic novels, and This Winter (trying to hold off on reading Nick and Charlie until after I have read Solitaire, The Yearbook and Volume 5... I'm a sucker for chronological order).

As always, Oseman's works are beautifully illustrated and give us quick snapshots into the life, and alternate universes of our favourite boys.

Adoption - Jumping ten years into the future we see a more Nick & Charlie and follow them on an adventure into becoming a party of three!

Boyband Crush - I haven't heard very much about I Was Born For This, however this comic has pushed it up my TBR list and I need to find out more about the boys Charlie was crushing over! The Ark!?

Bedtime - The First Heartstopper comic I have seen that's in colour! (Cannot wait for The Yearbook to come out to see some more full cover renditions from Oseman!) A sweet, sleepy full colour where we see an older Charlie comforting an equally older Nick, it's a soft comic with a loving, protective feel.

Cookie Crisis - The first guest artist piece i'd experienced (I've since found the Heartstopper Tapas page and intend to consume ALL guest artist works) this work by Lyndsey McSeveney brought a loving attempt at baking and a sweet store interaction with Tao & Elle!

Flower Shop - Diving into an alternate, yet equally wonderful universe we experience a perfect meetcute between Charlie, and the ever caring and there-for-you Nick Nelson.

Moments - set between 2.12 and 2.13 in Volume One, but is in full colour!

The Dream - Set before Nick & Charlie shared their first kissl... Nick imagines that blissful moment in his head... regency Nick & Charlie? Yes Please.

The invitation - I have heard this comic will not be republished (some of the others may be) as it is a H**ry P**ter re-imagining. What if sexuality wasn't the concern, but your School house was?

Overall, this Mini-series was a delight and offered eight slices of a Wholesome, Heartstopper Pie!
