The Killing Code by Ellie Marney

5.0

The Killing Code was lent to me by my friend, and I am so glad that she did!
It is a murder mystery book set in 1943, so perfect for historical fiction lovers and murder mystery geeks alike.
It tackles issues surrounding class and racism, as well as sexism with the main premise of the book surrounding violence towards women.
From the very beginning, Marney makes you feel attached to the characters and grips you, making each page exciting. There isn't a single chapter which doesn't add something to the story line.
This book also includes sweet romance between two of the main characters, and this particular novel is by far one of my favourites for romance since there was no extremely graphic descriptions, and there were also LGB relationships without that being a big deal for the characters.
I would absolutely recommend and wish I could read it again without knowing the ending! A genuinely fabulous book.
