Another massive time jump, 1500 years after the events of God Emperor of Done.  This apparently was the beginning to a new trilogy that Frank was unable to finish due to his death, and it feels like a set up book.

The scattering of humanity under Leto II has begun to return.  Led by the mysterious Honored Matres with drug induced orange eyes (synthetic spice?).

The ghola Duncan Idaho is back (again) and he's better than ever.  His training lead him back to his memories, kind of like the spice agony ritual.  Also he turns into a sexual jujitsu master against the Honored Matre Murbella, which was pretty wild.

The Bene Gesserit trained military mentat Miles Teg is another great character.  Seeing his mentat capabilities play out is fun.

Sheeana a fremen on Rakis can speak to the sandworms which freak the priest out.  The Bene Gesserit get to her start her training.  Should be interesting to see where this leads.

The Bene Gesserit and the Bene Tleilax have risen to be the power players in the universe.  I think Frank Herbert is saying something about the coming together of the female and male to make whatever the Honored Matres are (or whenever is driving them back to the central planets).

There's a lot of sex and sexual energy in this book.  Bring on Chapterhouse.
