Le metamorfosi by Mario Scaffidi Abbate, Ovid

2.0

This book really drove home how many of the Greek myths involve sexual assault... and to add insult to injury, it's always those who are raped who are punished for it, instead of the rapists. Not much has changed since then.

While it is beautifully written, The Metamorphoses is also very repetitive and honestly kind of a drag. Clearly Ovid mastered form, but not content. 2.5/5⭐
