I read this entire epic fantasy book in one sitting, and it's easily one of my favourites this year.
The characters are compelling, the plot is action-packed and full of intrigue, and the world is beautifully developed. The romance is heartwarming, with leads that are true partners and supporters for each other, who you can't help but root for.
I loved how much personality Relaina had--she's headstrong in a nuanced, complex way, and lets kindness guide her values. Her relationships with her siblings and Jeremiah all feel authentic and unique, and I also loved that she was allowed to be a hot mess sometimes. Her dialogue and banter were some of my favourite, too!
Darren goes through a really emotional journey that I won't spoil, and he's allowed to feel those things, which is so important (yet so rare for male leads). He's loyal as hell, drinks his respecting-women juice, and shows so much courage. Also, poor Darren--everyone thinks everything is his fault all of the time, but he deals with it well.
There was also a romantic subplot between two other characters that I found super sweet but won't spoil here.
If you love epic fantasy and a healthy romance between two badass characters, The Prince of Terrana is an absolute pleasure to read. I definitely recommend!
