Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie

4.0

Really enjoyed this. Rushdie really took the 'magical' in magical realism to the extreme: colourful, clever, off-its-rocker crazy - in other words, Rushdie at his best! Made a nice change from some of his other books I've read, which have often been quite dense and complicated. This was just pure, simple fun - and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Rushdie is currently on a winning streak with me. Out of all of his books that I've read, this is probably the one I liked the least - and I still thought it was absolutely brilliant. Carry on as you are, Mr Rushdie, and you will keep your title as one of my two favourite authors. Ever.
