Perfect Blue: Mükemmel Başkalaşım by Yoshikazu Takeuchi

not taking into account its idiosyncrasies and inconsistencies, Perfect Blue makes for a solid thriller. I have to admit, the film did a much better job capturing the theme of obsession, but along with its exploration, it lost some of the essence of the original novel. The last act left me a little annoyed at the inconceivability of an otherwise very realistic fictional tale; that being said, the visceral, twisted gore is disgustingly good. being a translated work, I'm ignoring all grammatical and language errors but one thing I found uncomfortable was how raw and unnecessary some chapters were (and I don't mean the ones with gore)
