The Blood of Emmett Till by Timothy B. Tyson

3.0

The revelation that Carolyn Bryant lied was not surprising at all but still good to have, I think.
This book talks about the brutal murder of Emmett Till as well as a little of the trial. I think it has a good context and more importantly, information on the influence this murder has on American History. I also liked the emphasis on the work of Mamie Carthan and how her actions and determination are what made Emmett's murder different than the others.
But I think I still would've preferred to read more from a perspective of a Black author or journalist.
