Wilder Girls by Rory Power

5.0

Rory Power is truly spectacular. I thought Burn Our Bodies Down was fantastic, but Wilder Girls is just as good, if not better. The first few chapters felt a tad long and slow but after getting into the main chunk of the book I really appreciated learning who the characters were and what Raxter was/what it meant to them. This book is horrifyingly brilliant, gory, heart wrenching and hard to put down. I grew such a soft spot in my heart for Hetty, and while Resse seemed like a villain at first, I grew to love her just as much. The way the perspectives switched between Hetty and Byatt was incredible - the way each of their personalities was written truly captured their essence; it showed how their fear and their fight differed. Overall I’m just obsessed with this story. I can truly say folks, that Rory Power is now one of my all time favorite authors.
