Did not finish book. Stopped at 28%.

I didn't understand the point of the book. Is it about literary theft or racism in the literary world? Either would have been fine but not as a mishmash of the two. Also, if one of the crimes of the white main characters is to have published a book about Chinese Americans, is it not equally problematic that said white character has been written by a Chinese American author? It all got too confusing for me. Plus it was uninteresting.
