I’ve only thought about Jude and Willem, and Malcolm and JB, and Harold and Julia, and everyone really, for the past few days. This book is heart wrenching and soul destroying in many ways, yet the writing is stunningly beautiful and the characters feel so much more alive than most other books. For these reasons, I wouldn’t recommend this book unless you are in a mentally stable place (there are a lot of triggers for self-harm, abuse and suicide), but ready to never be able to let go of everyone.
