This book is about community. This book is about perspective. This book feels like it is also about the parallel universes that exist not only across timelines, but also across individuals within the same universe, within the same story.
Each perspective in this book held up a mirror to the others. Some of those mirrors were direct reflections— characters who were honoring, committed to, ready for community. Others deflected us as the reader— characters who showed us what might lead someone to an un-readiness, or hesitance around being connected to the community that Turnbull is weaving across timelines, across peoples, across these characters. I cannot wait to discover what these communities and perspectives will reflect to us as this series continues.
Consideration: If you are having trouble keeping up with the various perspectives, I must recommend the audiobook narrated beautifully by Dion Graham!
