Thrilled to finally start another TJR novel after a successful book club selection.

Set in sunny, sleepy Malibu, the novel follows the Riva siblings, who have a a passion for surfing, a deep connection with one another and difficult roots. I really enjoyed many aspects of this book and on reflection cannot point out a flaw. I just wanted to keep reading. I loved the exploration of lives that were on the flip side of the rich and famous. The strong connection between the four Riva siblings and the flash backs that revealed the generational trauma of abandonment, infidelity and addiction. I also really loved the party. The promise of everything going up in cinders and the little glimpses into other party goers evenings. I loved the perspective build and the tangents that were all leading to the final moment.

If you love drama, glamour and a sting of reality this read is for you.
