I wanted so much to love this book, but i just couldn't do it. I think in the long run i was hoping to see something more of the crazy things that come along with owning a zoo - but the reality is it has more to do with the initial purchase and setup to be able to get a zoo running. Don't get me wrong, it is a story worth telling, though a lot of it gets overshadowed by the health concerns of the author's wife. 1/3 of the book is about getting the money pre-purchase, 1/3 about health of the author's wife, and 1/3 about the many things needed to be updated and adapted to make it a running facility. That last 1/3 is where the animals are prevalent.
