I'm Glad My Mom Died

Prior to listening to this, I hadn’t heard of McCurdy as I’ve never seen the Nickelodeon shows she was on. I’m happy I went into this without any previous knowledge because I feel like I truly got to know the real her throughout. I listened to this in just one day. This was a really heartbreaking story of how those closest to us can damage us the most and create seriously lasting effects. Jennette is so open and brutally honest about her story and the trauma she has gone through, mostly at the hand of her own mother. She outlines her self destruction while navigating the complicated and challenging relationship with her mother.
I wish McCurdy all the best on her continued path of healing and finding real joy. I recommend listening to this on audio as the author does her own narration, which I always prefer.
