A Day Makes by Mary Calmes

Pretty much all of my reviews sound the same regarding a Mary Calmes book because in essence, all of Mary’s books are the same.

This starts with Ceaton, ex-military, extremely loyal, handsome beyond belief but never forming any attachments because he just hasn’t found “the one”. He’s a mobster’s top man for solving problems, but he still has moral standards.

This ends with Ceaton meeting the love of his life, ray of sunshine Brinley, and as is par for the course, in a blink of an eye he falls hard and fast. It doesn’t matter to Brinley that Ceaton is a killer, because he’s a killer with a heart of gold.

Just know this is smack dab in the middle of Calmes’s immense Chicago universe and ties directly to [b:Mine|13455726|Mine|Mary Calmes|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1328577294l/13455726._SX50_.jpg|18984209] and paves the road to [b:Late in the Day|36409352|Late in the Day (The Vault, #2)|Mary Calmes|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1507957585l/36409352._SY75_.jpg|57336454].

Overall, ridiculously over the top but still fun and romantic in that classic Calmes insta-claiming proprietary lusty love that checks off those boxes when you want some reliable entertainment!
