This is a quiet story of disaster, loss and what it means to survive. Quiet in that this is a character driven story, not plot heavy it’s about the personal journey. The writing is beautiful how each section is driven by a different element. You follow Wanda a baby born in the midst of hurricane, throughout the book Lily Brooks-Dalton had me asking questions throughout my experience reading this dystopia where natural disasters have become a daily pattern of life everywhere
What does it mean to survive? How do we continue thriving when the world is falling apart? What happens when the world is ever changing and we just have to keep adapting?
This book will stay with me for a while, I got this from BOTM Dec 2022 and I’m really glad I finally took a chance and read it.
