A little slow in the beginning, and the character development (if there is any quantitative amount) in our main cast seems to be a tad random. I wish our characters had a little bit more dimensions to them, but the reader can glean small pieces of personalities from the chapters as they get further into the story (though it takes a while).
We never get explained as to why Richard started acting the way he did from Halloween until his death, and I feel that part of the story could have been at least mentioned if not dealt with to give us at least a reason for Richard's behavior. Another thing I'd like to add is our main cast's morals. I completely understand gray morals, but I find it mind-boggling that Wren would decide to side with leaving Richard to die in the lake. It's her cousin (who she admits was like her brother)!!
