Nothing Much Happens: Cozy and Calming Stories to Soothe Your Mind and Help You Sleep by Kathryn Nicolai

hopeful lighthearted relaxing slow-paced

5.0

I can not put my love for this book, this podcast, and it’s creator into adequate words.

I first found the Nothing Much Happens podcast in 2019 when I was having a lot of trouble sleeping. I’d tried so many things and nothing was working, then I found this podcast and it quite literally changed my life. I don’t always fall asleep perfectly or stay asleep all night, but it got me into a steady routine and more often than not, this podcast is what helps me fall asleep, even after waking up in the middle of the night.

So of course I had to buy the book, and the audiobook. I’ve been listening to a chapter or two a night to fall asleep and it works just like the podcast (although I did miss the deep breaths at the start!)

The physical book has so many cute extras like the gorgeous artwork, recipes that go along with what was cooked in the story, and meditation walkthroughs.

I urge anyone who’s ever had trouble sleeping to give this podcast and this book a try.
