Scarlett and the Fake Boyfriend by @ivysmoakauthor

Thank you to Ivy Smoak for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Scarlett still hasn’t figured out who stole her first kiss šŸ’‹ (and second… and third), but she does have fake boyfriend Jacob by her side, determined to help make her longtime crush, Axel, jealous. Between their staged dates and very real-feeling hallway PDA, Scarlett starts to wonder if maybe she doesn’t want it to be fake after all.

Meanwhile, the mysterious ā€œkiss thiefā€ is back, promising to claim all of Scarlett’s firsts. And even though she wishes it were Jacob, she’s convinced he’s not the one behind the texts.

Just like in the first book, I adore Scarlett. She’s such a real teenager—torn between long-held feelings for Axel, undeniable chemistry with Jacob, and a flirty, anonymous mystery heating up her phone. She’s a hot mess in the most relatable, emotional, endearing way.

And Jacob? Hands down one of the best fictional high school boyfriends I’ve ever read šŸ˜. Every time he called her ā€œloveā€ or pulled her into a hug, my heart melted. His humor, his patience, the way he just shows up for her? Chef’s kiss. I was right there with Scarlett, wishing he was the real deal.

Also… jealous Axel? Might be my favorite version of him. Who wouldn't want a hot football player insisting on late-night cuddles to keep the zombie nightmares away? His protective streak was on, and I loved every second.

And yes, let’s talk spice. This sequel definitely ups the heat! Scarlett’s third base lessons push this one beyond PG-13 and into swoony YA territory, and I am 100% here for it šŸ”„!

Now excuse me while I obsessively wait to find out who the kiss thief is—and who Scarlett chooses in the end.
