A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

This hands down has to be one of the best books I have read of all time. I was *engulfed* in this story from the getgo, but by the time we got to the end I was hook line and sinker another huge advocate for this series. Just something about this world that Sarah J.Maas has created and the characters in it is intoxicating. I think what largely drives the obsession with this series (mine now too) is that even though there is a large plot and fantasy component to the story, at it's heart it's character driven. It's driven by the relationships and friendships and hardships and person growth journeys of these 500 year old faeries that she's managed to so humanize, reading about their wings doesn't even make you bat an eye. It's the night court in this book though that has taken it past the first book and saored through the sky, it's rhysand' humor and court, it's feyre not just fighting to survive like in the first book but finding a readon to live, finding her light, embracing her power and for the first time in her life finding a home, both within herself and those around her. Besides the swoonworthy romance between Feyre and Rhysand there's the bickering and humour of the night court which had me rolling on the floor dying and clutching (yes actually physically clutching) my heart because of it's sincerity. Feyre has go to be one of my favorite female characters ever, after this book, because even though I wanted to scream at her for the majority of the book, I got it, she had to go through it, and once she did, she had some marvelous moments that had me fistbumping the air
