It's been a while since I've read a book that had such a unique and creative plotline. Often, when you're a voracious reader, you find that too many books are the same few stories told with different mild flavors. That's not the case with this book, though I will say that it reminds me in some ways of various other books I've read. There's a similarity to The Hunger Games, as far as the way the elite treads upon everyone else and goes through a charade to maintain the upper hand. I also find it a bit similar to Dune, though not as quite an epic, simply because there is world-building here that I feel is (though not on Dune's level) pretty impressive.

...Why is it that the more I enjoy a book, the less I have to say? Maybe it's because I'd rather spend my time recommending it vaguely and reading more of the series than trying to analyze all of my favorite details.

Suffice it to say that I think everyone who is a great reader should read this book, at least to decide for themselves if they think it's as great as I do.
