i wanted to love this book. i went into it expecting to love it. but it's really boring, and not really about anything. the pterodactyl is never explained, and Shiels, the main human character, isn't likeable or relatable, so i didn't care about her feelings. This had the potential to be great, but was so terrible i didn't finish it.
