I have been seeing this book all over tiktok, with many stating it was a 5 star read for them and so I decided to give it a try. While I do not think it was a 5 star read, it is definitely close to it.

The Midnight Library follows Nora as she makes the decision on which potential life she should take after she decides that she no longer wants the current one she has.

I really love the concept of the Midnight Library, as it suggests that in that instance there are infinite possible choices we can make to keep living and try again.

Nora starts off as a very cold character, tried and full of regret and expectations that she can never meet. As she travels through lives, her character warms and she grows and I think the different versions of herself help her to do this. She very obviously suffers from mental health problems and the book doesn't shy away from that either. It was wonderfully written in that it was never the main part of the story, but was always there in the background.

I think what makes this book is the ending, rather than the philosophical moments or the actual meat of the story. The end really summarises everything that Nora learns in her travels, whilst also showing that she still has regrets but that's okay.

The smallest choices really can have massive impacts on not only our lives, but the lives around us.
