Crash Landing by Annie McQuaid

4.0

Piper Adams, rule follower and med student, who perpetually lives up to her parents’ polished image to the detriment of her own needs, gets stranded on a deserted island with her former friend (and ex), Wyatt, when their transportation to a mutual friend’s wedding gets derailed twice over.

She never expected to ever see Wyatt again.

She definitely never expected to be stuck on an island with him, struggling to survive.

At a glance:
- Single POV
- Childhood friends-to-lovers-to-estranged enemies(ish)-to-lovers
- Second chance
- Forced proximity (stranded on an island together!!!)
- Dual timeline
- Ex-military
- Class differences

Oh my heart! Wyatt is the one that crushed Piper’s (but, of course, we readers know he crushed his own in the process, too). My favorite thing about this book is how Annie McQuaid captures the blush and rush of young love so well.

Both Piper and Wyatt have their own things that they need to work through in the book, but I was rooting for them the whole time.

I had access to a traveling ARC of the book. Review opinions are my own.
