Darkroom by Kate Willoughby

Darkroom is the seventh book in the multi-authored Moo U series, and it serves as my introduction to Kate Willoughby's writing as well. This book gets kudos because of the unique story line and two thumbs up for the awesomeness that is Hudson Forte, the male main character. I struggled a bit, though, with Indira "Indi" Briscoe, the female main character. I appreciated the diversity she represented, but I confess that her lack of interest in learning more about her Asian background gave me pause. I also didn't feel the connection between the main characters as much as I wish I had. I liked that they had their personal journeys, but there was so much going on with them as individuals, that it was almost as if the romance took a backseat to everything else they were dealing with. Willoughby's writing, however, was quite good, and the book did hold promise. This gets 3.5 stars.
