Wilde explored the connection of human's fear and belief. We fear things we do not know / are not sure of, and we are easy to get convinced in this state of uncertainty. We feel more at ease having a bit clearer picture of the mysteries to hold onto, so just give us some idea and it works. Human being is amazing! In the state of fear, something in the middle does not work (though we have been all of our life trying to balance ourselves). We tend to embrace only whether it be extremely blessed or extremely wicked idea about ourselves. Nobody can tell our future, we are aware of this fact, yet we are curious to have it told. The things in the middle of morality scale are ignored by us, while we listen to the best and worst incidents in our future. Whether we believe or we fear, we tend to make things clear by following what we have been told, while the other possibility is that thing might not occur as it is told if we do not fear or believe in it in the first place.
