The Plight Before Christmas by Kate Stewart
5.0
Spice: 2/5 (but it’s absolutely perfect!)
Plot: 6/5 lol
This might actually be the perfect book. It was so damn good!!
The family dynamic and drama - NAILED IT! The comedic relief of Peyton - “Do not matta! In de past! Past hewts!” I was legit howling! Whitney’s mom… I can only pray that I am half as awesome as that woman when I’m older lol. Her story about shooting her husband in the ass, lord help me was that the most relatable thing I’ve ready recently lol. The angst, the tension, the memories, the confession - THAT CONFESSION!! The fucking bomb that drops making it all make sense. My heart was breaking while simultaneously healing at the same time. It was perfection.
Honestly, I laughed so hard reading this. It was such a feel good holiday book, if you haven’t read it, do it now! And thank you Mer @bookmmyspice for this!
Oh and then.. AND THEN… “Name’s Sean…” of course there’s a damn cross over. Did my pulse immediately sky rocket? Yes. Did I re-read that part half a dozen times? Also yes. Did I just fall in love with Sean even more? Hell fucking yes. Sigh. That whole encounter made me stupidly giddy and it was the mother fucking cherry on top. The heart palpitations were real.
If you can only read one more book this year, read this one!!
