A Court of Thorns and Roses
by Sarah J. Maas
Won't rate this because it was a DNF at about 40%.
This is for plenty of people, love that for all of you, it is not for me. Will never yuck a yum, there's plenty that I read that others will not like.
That being said: I have to at least to some degree want to root for the main character, or at least understand them being awful if they're awful. Just could not like anyone in this book. Strange choices were made by pretty much everyone! I also do understand that this was originally YA and this one reads like it, and I think I've grown away from that style some; and even though I know it becomes much more adult as the series goes on, I don't have the energy to devote to that.
"The first book is bad but the rest are good!" There are only so many hours in a day, babe. I will not slog through like 400 pages of bad book just because theoretically it will get better. ;-;
