the main character was really loveable. I enjoyed seeing the childlike perspective, it was very interesting to realize just how he saw the world. I wish the first "section" of the book was longer, that it was more detailed about the history between the mom and the man and his life in the room. the whole takes place in the span of like 2 weeks, I feel like it could have been drawn out more. so much of the focus was on what life was like after. but I'm already familiar with the world they entered. while it wad interesting to see him adjust to everything, I already know this world. theres very little novelty to me and I wanted more of Jack's perspective on *his* world, not mine.
