Jean-Claude's face twisted. I wasn't sure if he was trying not to laugh, or not to frown. Maybe both. I affected some people that way.

2024 (4.5 stars): I spontaneously decided I had to begin a reread of this series. I'm such a mood reader! Hopefully I'll progress further than book six this time around. I know the later books get a lot of criticism for all the sex, sex, sex but I love these early instalments - they are fast-paced and dark. No glittering-in-the-sun vampires here. These supernatural creatures are deadly and scary as hell!

Listened to Guilty Pleasures on audio this time round and although the narrator was good for the most part, her French accent for Jean-Claude was dreadful and had me cringing.
