I am so so so grateful that I read and finished this book. As a pastor I have been working to articulate my theological understanding around sex and faith for years and though that process will continues, McCleneghan has provided meaningful language and arguments that fit squarely into where I currently am.
I am so grateful for all those willing to take on the hard and often polarizing conversation around sex and the church from any and all perspectives. The church has failed to provide meaningful and relevant space for individuals and communities to actually SPEAK about this and wrestle, as a community with these topics and practices. McCleneghan, with a vulnerable yet humorous voice, offers individuals and I believe communities that exact opportunity.
McCleneghan writes for those who agree with her, but I believe also for those who would deeply disagree with where she lands around sex and our faith. She is a conversation partner that can both help articulate your understanding if you agree with her, or provide some much needed understanding for those who disagree with her. She leaves space for diversity and wavering of humanity with hope.
I am extremely glad to have this resource read and on my shelf. If you work in the church or struggle to understanding the intersection of faith and sexuality, I would recommend picking this book up.
