Arsène Lupin, Gentleman-Thief
by Maurice Leblanc
adventurous
This is a collection of short stories, and as it usually happens, I enjoyed some stories much more than others. At times I found that the crimes lacked closure and that they were never properly explained, besides Lupin being a genius and able to do whatver he wants, which can be frustrating for the reader. Also, the stories about prince Renine felt like they didn't belong in the same book, or that the character needed more introduction as one of Lupin's aliases.
Other stories were great, smart and full of cleverly scattered clues. Overall, a good mystery book with a refreshing focus on the thief. But overall, not my favorite.
