This black dagger brotherhood book focuses on John Matthew and if you’ve read any of my BDB reviews, you know I’ve been hyped to read this since I started book 2 (too much hype??). It was a good book, but honestly, all I could focus on was was flipping through chapters trying to find when I’d get to read about Blaylock & Quihnn next… (swoon 😭)
So many different character POVs and scenes in this book particularly, which was fun when you get to the end and realize it’s all connected. I said “whaaaaat?!” out loud while reading at least three times because of all the unknown twists revealed (the ghost hunter plot line makes much more sense now).
Xhex and John Matthew love story made sense on paper, they have similar heartbreaking backgrounds, but this was another one where the romance itself seemed to take a backseat to the plot of the fight against the Lessers (and Lash). This book was full of action and adventure - and Xhex was definitely not your traditional female needing rescue (so badass).
