I found it somehow hard to connect with the story and the characters. There's a lot of things going on and a lot of cliché things that I wasn't a fan of. Ava is a such a lover girl and sees the good in people. I genuinely feel like she deserves someone who mirrors her soft heart. I'm not fan of an overly possessive MMC with zero to no regard of the FMC's feelings. It feels like Alex was reducing Ava as some kind of object to possess that's why I find it very hard to root for them. I love groveling in romance books and I'm just glad they didn't just kiss and got back together the moment they reunited. I know it's not a book I'm going to rate 3 stars and above the moment I'm already tempted to dnf the book. I was just itching to finish it just for the sake of it. I see the potential of the plot but the execution was just not it. Hope the rest of the books in this series is better.
