I found Sea Witch enjoyable for the most part, though its much more of a little mermaid retelling than the blurb would lead you to believe. Much of what happens in the original story happens here but the context is what changes.

The mid-story is quite slow with not much happening, it could have been edited down. I absolutely loved the ending/epilogue but
don't think the sudden romantic love between Evie and Nik was set up very well. What was the point of Iker then? He lent nothing to the story but confuse the reader. This 'twist' was handled clumsily.
Having said that, I still found it very enjoyable.
I don't find myself having much interest in the sequel though. I liked this story and know the Little Mermaid back to front, I don't need more.
