This was such a sweet book. There was age gap and slow burn, and it was so awesome. Ben is 24 and taking care of his brother after their parents passed away. He is struggling with making sure he does the best he can, but both Ben and Milo are struggling with grief and how to navigate their new reality. Milo is (understandably) struggling in school, but most of the teachers Milo has are not very supportive or helpful. Jack is his woodworking teacher, and sees the potential in Milo.

Ben wants to get out of the family house. It holds too many memories. Milo feels a connection there and doesn’t want to leave. Jack is living with his ex and his boyfriend and is miserable. When Ben asks him to renovate their house, they have a strong connection. Jack is afraid of the age gap and the role he plays at school, but they clearly have feelings for each other. I loved the slow burn. By the time the guys got together, they knew it was what they each wanted and there was no room for doubts. They were sweet together, and I loved watching them help Milo grow into a strong young man.

I really loved this. I did not read the first book, and it did not detract from this. I may have liked to know more about Luke and Sam, but it wasn’t necessary for the enjoyment of this book.
