These Broken Stars by Meagan Spooner, Amie Kaufman
4.0

WOW! ok first I’ve got to say I love the writing style. The way that its an interrogation, but since you, as the reader, are not aware of the whole story, you’re left to find the answers as the interrogation progresses; that was awesome. I will say this, the first 1/2 of the book is basically a survival manual for the wilderness. Tarver and Lilac, the main characters, spend so much time in the forest, plains, mountains, just trying to survive, but the main character’s obvious liking and banter towards one another, makes all those wilderness parts entertaining. The structure of showing glimpses of the interrogation in the beginning of every chapter was clever, because it forces you to keep turning the page. The ending was good and it wasn’t a cliff hanger, like I thought it would be! Instead this book can be a standalone, and does not need sequels to complete it’s story.

I recommend this as a YA-SciFi novel, and I really enjoyed it.
