Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano

4.0

It has been a while since I finished a book in a day but I had time putting this down because things were always fun. This is a book where you have to suspend disbelief for you to enjoy
I liked that:
✅The book takes on a humorous tone (without hiding the sad parts of) divorce and child custody battles. Like when she drops off the kids and her youngest has a bad diaper she does not change it. She comes to pick up the kids and then she finds that he never changed him. Sometimes things were so ridiculous that you had to laugh at the sheer audacity.

✅Finlay is the kind of character that grows on you. She does things that do not at make sense but it turns out chaotic and alright in the end for her.

❌I found that there was a lot of fluff between the dialogues. Some of it was good and other times it drove me crazy because it was distracting me from the plot. In the beginning I did not like Vero very much mostly because she did things that made the meses they were already in much worse but she redeemed herself.
❌The plot in this book is ridiculous because a lot of things about the procedures taken would land her in jail so quickly. Like her book had details that were not in the police report. Her detective friend was so bad at his job. The police would have investigated the last guys murder. Especially considering that his death was different wouldn't they have s TAKEN
