The Outcasts of Time
by Ian Mortimer
I love Ian Mortimer’s history books. In my opinion, the Outcasts of Time should be categorized as “non-fiction fiction”, where the sole purpose of having a fictional character and a storyline is to add flavors to what is wrapped inside, be it history or philosophy. It can be shelved together with Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder.
Anyhow, I find the book hugely entertaining. What John, the traveller from the time of the Black Death, thinks about each new age is well imagined and convincing.
