The Mistletoe Motive by Chloe Liese
3.0

I 100% picked this up for the autism representation. There’s still very few depictions of autistic females on page/screen and I always crave more. Unfortunately, the whole story fell kind of flat for me. I just don’t think I can get down with the hate to love trope anymore. I really dislike that each character seems to assume the worst about the other for no reason. And this has been going on for a year?! How do you get over that. You don’t just brush off the fact that someone has been treating you like shit for a whole year because they mistakenly assumed you were a horrible person but now they know better. I just don’t get it. I know there’s an audience for this type of hate to love so hopefully those folk find this. There is a bit of You’ve Got Mail thing going on if you’re into that. I think it’s a perfectly good example of what it is and I do appreciate the female autistic representation.
