Breakfast with Seneca: A Stoic Guide to the Art of Living by David Fideler

4.0

easy to read and serves as a good introduction to stoicism (fitting amount of historical background, explanations, etc, imo), as well as highlighting parallels to today such as cbt, modern psychological terms, and current examples and applications of stoic concepts. i enjoyed the tone, which was very friendly and informative, in a guiding manner.

has a nice appendix of exercises (which were mentioned in the text, but a neat, summarised list is always welcomed) at the end, as well as recommended readings, a nice bibliography, and a short guide to which book contains which of seneca's writings, which i'd been looking for! greatly appreciated.

will be reading letters on ethics next after this.
