Concept was pretty good, I enjoyed the small town vibe. But I kept inadvertently comparing to Ninth House, which I liked a lot more. This lacks the intensity of Ninth House, and took MUCH longer for me to feel settled in the narrative. I felt really lost for the first 50-75 pages. Once I was in the swing, it was good. The emotions of the characters were really relatable (except for Laura, who SUCKS). Some turns of phrase and plot moments were so striking and beautiful that it kept the rating from sinking.
