Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman: Trinity by Matt Wagner

4.0

Been seeing this book at Kinokuniya for the longest time - finally read it in preparation for the upcoming movie Batman Vs Superman (because Batman, Superman and Wonder woman will all be in the movie).

Not surprised if this comic book is the base of the movie - with just the changing of the villain and settings. (n the movie the biggest enemy is Lex Luthor and his Abominable creation - in the book its Ra's Al Ghul and his invasion of Wonder Woman's island refuge Themyscira as well as his beast Bizarro).

Slightly hilarious and engaging with each of the characters asking honest and funny questions to each other (Batman to Wonder Woman - aren't you a little bright colored and under exposed?) its a funny take on how the three can cooperate, pooling the strength, stealth, and skill of each character in solving a problem bigger than themselves.

While this graphic novel has some funny undertones - it is poignant to wait and see if the movie will reflect this too, instead of having just bad vibes with everyone else. Oh and in the movie Batman fights with Superman, it doesn't happen here.

There is a funny scene in the middle of the book when Batman sees Wonder Woman 'refreshed' - and how Superman just knows everything that is going on that Batman tries to be stealthy about. Definitely worth a read especially since the movie about the trio will be coming out soon!
