Meet Cute Club
by Jack Harbon
while this was very cute it just fell a little bit flat for me. the pacing was all over the place - the beginning happening very quickly, the middle being slow and the ending accelerating infinitely again.
it all read very easy, which is okay! but some phrasing in the prose reminded me a bit too much of colloquial twitter talk (which again: completely fine just not my style)
the ending with the author what’s-her-name was … a bit ridiculous and required a big amount of suspension of belief.
there were also a few perspective issues where we’d hear one mc’s thoughts and then a sentence later it would change to the other one. that quick switch was sometimes very awkward.
overall, very cute but not cute enough for me to read any of the author’s other books.
((this lowkey read like an eamesxarthur inception fanfic, i will not take any criticism))
