I give this one a solid 3.25
Pros
Pros
- A brooding, dark-haired man, who I felt was more of a black cat type than an asshole (which I was worried for initially). Adam's character is truly written in the female gaze, and I feel the author did a wonderful job of noting the small details of his personality.
- Women in STEM! I LOVE WOMEN IN STEM!!
- Chapters 15-17
- No bullshitting! There was no parts that dragged out! A win.
Cons
- Fake dating trope. Not my cup of tea, but I did like how this one played out.
- Olive, I love women in STEM but who are you? I felt like Olive's character was very simple, and while I have not been through a STEM PhD program, I do think my girl should've had some kind of hobby good lord.
- Edit: WAIT the other con was the way they kept bringing up diabetes?? And making slight fat jokes, not a fan of that part of the dialouges.
Moderate: Sexual harassment
