I don't think this book is perfect anymore, but it still is really really good. I love the flaws of the main character, but it is sometimes difficult to distance one from her (and the narrators) views - they are not supposed to be perfect, though. My favorite quote about the main character is: "I don't think anyone can overestimate you. But you are not a nice person" (quoted from memory) and I think that actually describes her a lot. She is very very intelligent, she is really observant, she wants to change the things that put her into a box und you can really feel her frustration whenever someone diminishes her in any way. It is such a good book on how being told that you're really cute is just simply not the same as being respected as a person. Frankie is underestimated by everyone around her and I think that is something that so some extent most women face.
But Frankie can also be really judgy, pretty stuborn about her opinion, slightly reckless and an adrenalin-junkie and attention-seeking. Those are her flaws though, and these simply make her a great and interesting character to follow.
The writing style and perspective are a bit unusual, the essay sections ultimately not that important (but I still liked them) and I wished the other characters would have gotten more spotlight. Especially Alpha. I'd like to know more about the guy. And, the "not like other girls" thingy is present in this book, but I count that as having to distance oneself from the views of the very biased narrator.
